Washing cars in the rain
The RX-7 needs to be sold so I spent part of the evening washing the inside and out. As I was just finishing the outside it started to rain.

Looking up, the only rain cloud in the area was the one pouring on me and the Mazda. So I just kept working, moping up the extra drops as they came down and spoiled the shiny hood.
If I was religious and look at this as a sign from God. “He’s angry! He wants me to keep the car so I can have much joy riding through the mountains of Colorado!” (insert lightening flash).
I’m not superstitious so I don’t fall prey to those kind of ideas. I also don’t have voices in my head (I left that behind with my last pretend named ‘Tim Hooverson’). So I just put my head down and kept cleaning.
The car is nearly ready. Over the last few years it has lacked the attention that a spoiled thoroughbred like it requires. This sportscar, much like the British sports cars of the 60’s is an endless series of maintenance tasks. The RX-7 uses oil as part of the combustion process so every time I pull it out of the garage I need to top it off.
Don’t get me wrong. I love this car and am having a hard time parting with it. But having a kid requires even more attention and the car is losing out. It is better for it to go to someone with the time and patience to work on it. There are other rotary engine enthusiasts out there who will give it a good home.
